Borokeete International Inc., formerly known as Borokeete USA, is a Caribbean Carnival and Cultural organization founded in 1987 in Brooklyn, New York. Its purpose was to embrace and advance Caribbean heritage in the United States. Borokeete continues to educate people and keep important Caribbean traditions alive. It has participated in, as well as sponsored many Caribbean cultural affairs.
The West Indian-American Labor Day Carnival Parade is a spectacular cultural event held annually in Brooklyn, New York. In 2006 this one event brought in over 4 million domestic and international patrons to its famous parade route. Currently, the West Indian Labor Day carnival parade is ranked as the world’s largest carnival parade festival.
In the twenty two years of our existence, Borokeete International Inc. has grown exponentially and has always maintained a major presence at this very impressive parade. It has been awarded the prestigious title of Best Costume Band many times because of not only our enormous popularity and great audience anticipation but because of our ability to far surpass all other participants every year.
Last year their carnival presentation was Cibola Quest. That presentation won second place however, it was voted the people choice for band of the year title last year.
