Las Vegas Carnival Press Release: Other Countries Allowed

The latest sensation in the Caribbean Scene is Las Vegas Carnival. We are still unsure as to the scope of the Carnival however one thing is certain you have a choice to make. Las Vegas Carnival is going to take place October 10th, the same weekend as Miami Carnival. We are very excited to see new carnival celebrations taking off. This year, Vegas Carnival invites other bands from around the world to participate in their competition for a startling grand prize. I truly love this idea. All of the quarrels about which country has the best carnival will be settled in Las Vegas, Lets Get Ready To Rumble!

LAS VEGAS CARNIVAL OPENS MASQUERADER BAND COMPETITION TO OTHER COUNTRIES

Las Vegas Carnival, Inc – a USA / Trinidad based operation, announced today that it has allowed other masquerader bands from other countries to compete in its carnival event on October 10th 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The competition will occur as part of the all-day concert / music festival in Las Vegas called the “VegasFest” and the carnival competition event which includes the masquerader parade of bands is now open to other countries wishing to enter, with cash and other prizes to the winning bands.

The competition will be judged by a panel of judges selected from the carnival design and fashion industries, including those involved in dance choreography. For the first year, 2010, LVC has limited the competition to the 10 following cities, representing their countries; those allowed entry are:

- Bridgetown – Barbados
- Las Vegas – United States
- London – England
- New Orleans – United States
- Nice – France
- Port-of-Spain – Trinidad
- Rio – Brazil
- St. Petersburg – Russia
- Toronto – Canada
- Venice – Italy

Designers from all above mentioned cities and countries are required to submit their designs for approval by March 31st 2010 and there will be two (2) masquerader bands allowed entry per city. The country winning the competition will earn the “Band of the Year” title and a $3 million dollar prize, doing so in front of an international audience as the carnival event will be broadcast live, internationally.

President of Las Vegas Carnival, Mr. Robert Ali says, “it has been our vision to bring together the countries of the world that participate in this unique celebration that is carnival and do so in comradery, so we’ve opened our competition of bands to countries wishing to be on the biggest entertainment stage in the world, the city of Las Vegas. We wish all competing bands good luck and look forward to building the Las Vegas Carnival as THE carnival competition and celebration that all aspire to be a part of”.

Applications can be downloaded from the Las Vegas Carnival website: lvcarnival.com on the “Competition” section of the site; please submit your application with all appropriate information and design photographs of costumes, theme explanation and number of costumes per section or band available to masqueraders.
