D.C. Carnival 2012

A message on the D.C. carnival’s face book page was posted asking for donations from the community. One can assume this was in response to an article by the Washington post , on the state of the Carnival for 2012.  We at Carnival Info are calling on you all to support D.C. Carnival so that another great event is not lost. Visit http://dccaribbeancarnival.org/siteCAR/ to donate or find out more information.
DC CARNIVAL Organizers are awaiting a final response from the District of Columbia Government on a wether a permit will be issued for the 2012 DC Carnival. In the mean time other options are being explored to ensure that there will be a Carnival in 2012 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of DC Carnival. One of the options in moving forward is to cover the outstanding debt. This can be accomplish by making a tax deductible donation to DCCC at www.dccarnival.orgor mailing a check/money order to DCCC 4809 Georgia Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20011. If we can get 100K supporters to donate a minimum of $5 we can address the outstanding $210K plus the anticipated 2012 fees. If we are really serious about preserving DC Carnival on Georgia Avenue this is a perfect opportunity to let our financial voices be heard.
One Response to D.C. Carnival 2012

  1. trini invasion says:

Everyone is talking about saving the carnival, what have the organizers done for the caribbean or west indian community. Trust me I know what goes on, The board has been the same for years and all of them put their hands in the pot and then in their pocket. Audit their ass and then let the truth be known. Trinidad has a few houses complements of the board and so does the. Check out and trace the trips, spending, houses, and bankaccounts and then come back and ask me for a donation. If they gave back and not enjoyed the money for themselves maybe they would get a dollar from me. The sponsers donate, they charge gate money, they throw party and have vendors how dotish they think we are.
