It was therefore no surprise that she pursued a career as a Beauty Therapist. Her journey as a professional makeup artist began 14 years ago when she met the late Jean Inniss Trinidad & Tobago’s premier makeup artist who recognized her natural flare for makeup and mentored her, though her work was greatly influenced by celebrity makeup artist the late Kevin Aucoin and Sam Fine. With her natural artistic abilities and sensitivity, she quickly distinguished herself and went on to become the most sought after makeup artist in the Caribbean and South America, this profound talent also led her to Europe and the continent of West Africa.

• Infomercials both Corporate and Commercial

Some of her faces have graced the Pageant stages of Miss Universe 1999 (Trinidad & Tobago), Miss Guyana Universe, Miss Guyana World. On the Fashion runways of Meiling, Claudia Pegus, The Cloth, Barbados Fashion Week, St Kitts Fashion Weekend, Roger Gary Designs (NY), Facts & Roses, Olympia’s Fashion, White Angels Grenada, Absolute Caribbean Fashion Weekend Barbados just to name a few. She has worked for several seasons with the cast of the long running television drama series West Wood Park, produced in Trinidad & Tobago and most recently Abstract/Bmobile Future Face Reality Television show, 2008 series for Grenada.

Some famous faces she has worked on are former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam, Miss World runner up Michelle Khan, Alison Hinds, Rachel Price, Nikki Crosby, Jade Cole, Nadine Willis, Natasha Jones, Simone Harris, Dominique Armorer, 2Ntrigue, Timeka Marshall, Michelle “Big Red” King, Apache Indian, Compton Hodges, Trini Jacobs to name a few. In 2008 Paulla was one of three nominees at the Caribbean Fashion Awards in the category of Best Caribbean Makeup Artist.
