Sugar Mas vs Trinidad Carnival: calendar differences
Sugar Mas 55 runs December 11, 2026–January 2, 2027 with J’ouvert on Boxing Day and Grand Parade on New Year’s Day. Trinidad Carnival 2027 is a separate February 8–9 street-parade weekend.

Travellers sometimes try to stack both seasons. That means a late-December St. Kitts trip and a separate February Trinidad trip — not one continuous road.
Costume deposits, hotels and flights should be planned per carnival. Use each carnival's events and costumes rather than assuming Trinidad band rules apply in Basseterre.
