Dimanche Gras (“Fat Sunday”) is the showcase night before the road. Giant individual King and Queen costumes compete, and calypso finals crown the National Calypso Monarch.
The date follows the fixed Carnival calendar: the Sunday immediately before Monday February 8. Ticket outlets and exact stage times for 2027 should be confirmed on the NCC programme when it is posted — treat evening hours below as the traditional window, not a final gate time.
Many visitors attend Dimanche Gras, sleep a few hours, then go straight to J’ouvert.
